1. Who we are
CVConnect is a local business directory serving the Coachella Valley. In this policy, “CVConnect,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the CVConnect app and its operator. Questions may be sent to cvconnectsupport@gmail.com.
2. Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect information such as your name, email address, account role, and authentication information. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are not visible to CVConnect.
Business information
Business owners and administrators may provide a business name, category, description, service area, address, phone number, operating hours, photos, services, menu items, prices, specials, social links, booking links, websites, and approved external payment links.
Quotes, messages, and photos
When you request a quote, we may collect your name, phone number, selected city, requested service, description, contact preference, attached photos, and messages exchanged with the selected business.
Subscriptions and transactions
Apple processes in-app subscription payments. We receive subscription and transaction status information needed to activate, renew, restore, expire, or refund Verified access. CVConnect does not receive your complete payment-card details.
Usage and technical information
We may record activity needed to operate and protect the service, such as profile views, quote activity, reports, account actions, timestamps, device or network information, and diagnostic logs.
Device permissions
Camera and photo-library access is used only when you choose to scan a menu or attach or upload a photo. You can manage these permissions in iOS Settings.
3. How we use information
- Provide business discovery, profiles, account access, claims, quotes, messaging, and subscriptions.
- Display information a business owner chooses to publish.
- Deliver a quote request and related messages to the business selected by the customer.
- Verify purchases and manage Verified membership status.
- Prevent fraud, enforce our terms, investigate reports, and protect users and the service.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, measure, and improve CVConnect.
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
4. How information is shared
We share information only as reasonably necessary to provide and protect CVConnect:
- With the selected business: quote-request contact information, service details, city, photos, and messages are available to the business receiving the request.
- With customers: public business-profile information and messages sent by the business are available to the requesting customer.
- With service providers: providers supporting hosting, authentication, database storage, email delivery, and Apple subscription processing may handle information on our behalf.
- For safety and legal reasons: information may be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate abuse, or defend legal claims.
- Business changes: information may be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of the service, subject to applicable law.
CVConnect does not sell personal information and does not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. Public information and external services
Verified business profiles may contain public information and links supplied by businesses. When you open an external website, booking page, social profile, map, or payment service, that provider’s privacy practices apply. CVConnect does not process, hold, guarantee, or refund payments made through external business links.
6. Retention and deletion
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal and security obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You may delete your account inside CVConnect. Deletion removes the account and associated user content as described on our Account Deletion page. Certain limited records may be retained when required for legal, fraud-prevention, security, transaction, or dispute-resolution purposes.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including authenticated access controls and restricted storage for private quote photos and messages. No system can guarantee absolute security.
8. Your choices and rights
You may update account or business information in the app, manage camera and photo permissions in iOS Settings, manage or cancel Apple subscriptions through your Apple account, hide or report listings, and delete your CVConnect account. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or information about how your personal information is handled. Contact us to exercise an applicable right.
9. Children
CVConnect is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child provided information improperly.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as CVConnect changes. We will post the revised policy with a new effective date and provide additional notice when required.
